Chef David Bouley awarded Doctorate of Humane Letters

Speaks at 2017 UCONN Graduation


In 2017, Chef Bouley received an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, “honoris causa” from the College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources at the University of Connecticut for his sustained and important accomplishments across his career and leadership in advancing the science and art of gastronomy as a vehicle for optimal health.

Born near Storrs, CT, UCONN invited Bouley back to his hometown to address the CAHNR (College of Agriculture, Health & Natural Resources) graduates this May 6th and awarded Chef a Doctorate of Humane Letters, honoria causa. Bouley conveyed to the graduates the important link between food, health and well-being that underpins his philosophy and approach to cuisine and his hopes that graduates will integrate their shared set of health, nutrition and environmental goals into their future careers.”
